HOW TO STOP YOUR DOGS AGGRESSION

TOWARDS

OTHER DOGS!

Lets talk about"How to stop your dogs aggression towards other dogs" and some reasons why your dog is aggressive!

Dogs are naturally aggressive and have been since the dawn of time. They had to be as wild animals to eat and to defend themselves and their mate. Dogs were also aggressive to protect their territory.

If you think about it, in a way we as people are a little that way ourselves and there was a time when we were a whole lot like an aggressive dog or animal. Thankfully as time moved on we as a people and dogs alike have become "civilized" or at least most!

It is for that reason among others that you need to head off your dogs aggression towards other dogs as soon as possible. Now some might tell you that you need to seek professional help in this matter and I partly agree.

1st- you need to take your dog to your veterinarian and make sure that he is healthy and that there is no problems of that nature.
2nd- you need to ask yourself if this is the kind of problem that you are capable of handling safely. That is for your safety and your dogs. If you believe you can, I am always of the nature that it is better for the dog owner to train ones own dog. It just makes for a better relationship between you and your dog.

3rd- if you are lacking in the knowledge as to how to stop your dogs aggression towards other dogs, there are some very good e-books that can bring you up to speed in a short time and inexpensively. Take the time to read the book and help your dog. If you either don't have time to train your dog or you don't believe you can, then you should seek a dog trainer.

I hope this will enable you to stop your dogs aggression towards other dogs

and I hope you  further understand some of the reasons why this aggression exists!

Train Your Dog-Don’t Let Your Dog Train You

Train Your Dog-Don't Let Your Dog Train You

We all love our dogs and our dogs can feel this love.Don't let them take advantage of this love. When training your dog you have to be consistent with your voice and body language. This is very important for success in your dog training.

We have all been there when trying to be serious in our training session and your dog does something cute or funny. Suddenly your serious training demeanor turns to a less serious manner. If this happens to often, your dog will relate one action to another. After all, that is probably how you are training your dog in the first place.

Now this is just going to happen from time to time, but you have to try not to let this happen too often. What will begin to occur is that your dog will catch on to this and if they don't want to perform, they will just repeat the behavior that gets the response from you that they want. Dogs are like children in this way. They will try to get away with all you allow. You have to keep your voice commands and body language consistent during your training sessions. I certainly do not support mistreating your dog, but be firm and stand with authority. Consistency will breed effective dog training. Just be careful what you are being consistent about!

If for what ever reason you are having trouble remaining serious, it's time to end this training and pick up again at another time. It is better to delay the training than to lose ground with your dog.

Once again, train your dog-don't let him train you. This might seem like a insignificant issue, but dogs are very smart and the least little thing can effect how they respond to you. There will be many times in your life with your dog that his being well trained will make a huge difference in your relationship with him and with others.

Your dog knows when you are reacting to them. They live for this. They are always trying to get a response out of you, but you need to control what that response is.It is just as easy to teach your dog to react to what you are training them for as it is for your dog to react to what you are not training to do. For effective dog training, you need your dog to react to you. He needs to know that at all times you are in control.

There is a time and a place for the fun and love attention to take place. Our dogs need plenty of that as well, but the training comes first. It's for the benefit of your dog and for you! A well trained dog is a healthier, happier dog.

Basic Dog Obedience Training

Basic Dog Obedience Commands

Dog training in the most basic form has come to be complicated by too many dog owners.

I know that all dogs are not the same and that all training methods don't work on all dogs!

What I want to talk to you about is to not over complicate basic dog training.

I am no spitfire dog trainer(by no means), but I have trained my dogs to do

the basics with the greatest of ease. I'm talking about basic dog commands such

as sit, stay, come, down, and fetch. You see, most dogs( not all) have a desire to make

their master, owner, alpha-whatever you want to be called- happy. I know my

dogs do and every dog I have ever had did! I believe this is just the nature

of most dogs. Because of this fact, training my dogs to respond to these simple commands

has been easy for me!

It all starts with the love and attention you show your dog!

I say this because, if you think you can get a dog, place him n the backyard, and visit

him every once in a while and that training him will be easy, you are looking at a long road to travel!

I'm not saying any of you do this, but it takes developing a great relationship with your dog

and a respect level between the two of you, and then the training comes a lot easier.

This is one reason I believe it is best for the dog owner to train their own dog, and not

send their dog off to be trained by someone else. That respect level between the two of you has to exist!

Now if you are thinking that you don't know how to train you dog with basic

obedience training commands, you might be surprised at how much you do know.

Have you tried? If you have, did you not see some kind of reaction and success.

A lot of times you are training your dog even when you don't realize you are!

You see, your dog is always watching you and listening to you and watching your body movements.

So even when it is just you and your dog together and you are just spending time with

him, you are training him at some level.

Basic dog obedience commands are easy with most dogs!

If youshow your dog love, kindness compassion, and respect then he will will do

the same in return! If you tell your dog to sit, and even if he doesn't because he has never

heard this command, simply push his back end down lightly and repeat the command.

Then tell you dog good boy or good girl and repeat the process. You don't have to

reward him with food or a treat, simply rewarding your dog with praise is

all you need to do. If you don't ever start the food or treat rewards, your dog will never

expect anything more than what they want anyway-which is your praise and satisfaction.

Repeat the sit command and the praise reward over and over and in a short while your

dog will be sitting on command. You can use this procedure with all of the basic dog

obedience commands and I assure you it will work.

The more advanced training is a different topic and might require some

guidance from a professional.

I still believe that even with with the more advanced dog obedience training, it is very important

for the dog owner to train their own dog!

If you are feeling pretty confident with the basic dog commands, but feel that you need some

assistance with the more advanced training, then help is here.

A very inexpensive, yet powerful training advice is available from KingdomOfPets.com called

Secrets of Dog Training.

The Importance of House Training Your Puppy

Friday, July 31st, 2009

The Reasons It Is So Important To House Train Your New Puppy

One day my new puppy had soiled the carpet before I even knew it was happening. A half hearted attempt had been made to house break our new family member, but too little too late. There are some descent carpet cleaning products out there and I will talk about them on future posts, but a soiled spot is a soiled spot and further more, I had failed my friend.

Once you mess up and allow your puppy to potty in the house, a scent will always be there-even if you have cleaned it to the point that a person can't smell, your puppy or another animal will smell it. This is just a good excuse for your puppy to to have a accident there again. This is my first reason that it is so important to house train your puppy as soon as possible.

Next, if you are like many dog owners, you like to take your new best friend with you on a walk or traveling with you in the car. Now whichever it is, you might decide to stop by a friends house to visit or you might stop by a store. If your puppy has been house trained to only go where and when you say it's o.k. then you don't have to worry about him going potty in your friends home or inside a store you stop at. Now I know that all stores don't allow dogs inside, but some do and i have seen people with their dogs in stores! The point is that you should train your puppy as young as possible to be house broke.
The next reason is because if you as the puppy owner are able to house train your puppy, then you should be able to tackle some of the other dog obedience training that he will need as time goes on. After all, house breaking a puppy is not what I would call basic training, because it is a little more involved that  say training your dog to "sit". If you feel like you might desire some help with your furthered dog obedience training abilities and would like a suggestion as to some good dog obedience training courses, then I have gathered you a few different resoureces that you might want to take a look at. 3 Simple Dog Obedience Training Tips

3 Simple Dog Obedience Training Tips

Training your own dog is a very rewarding experience for both the dog and owner. Start with these 3 simple dog obedience training tips and you should start to see great results from your efforts!

1. Patience- always be patient with your dog in your training sessions. Remember you are working with a dog and it may take some time for him to understand the commands you are teaching. If you repeat what ever the training is enough times, your dog will start to learn pretty quickly. The more you work with your dog and his obedience training, the quicker he will pick up on what you are teaching.

2. Always reinforce your training with positive praise. Never scold your dog or strike your dog during a training session. This will make your dog relate a negative experience to his training and could slow down or halt all your obedience training efforts. Positive praise for what your dog does right is always better that negative reactions for what your dog does wrong. Remember, your dog looks up to you, so don't look down on him.

3. When you are teaching your dog obedience training, keep each training session short and to the point.  A long session will only result in your dog losing focus or getting confused as to what you are teaching. Only train one aspect of obedience at a time for example "stay" or "down". Give your dog time to master one command before starting to teach another.

Keep these 3 dog obedience training tips in mind when you are training your dog. Most dogs are very intelligent animals  and will enjoy the training. You see, they don't know they are being trained, to them it's like they are just interacting with their owner. Keep each session fun and enjoy this time with your dog.  Maybe throw the frizbee or go to a dog park or just for a walk.

If you would like to learn how to fully train your dog The Secret to Dog Training is a great resource that will teach you how to quickly and easily get the results that you are looking for.
